Treatment Process

Your first-day schedule depends on the treatment and arrival time. It may include airport transfer, hotel check-in, hospital registration, a physician consultation, physical examination and required tests. The final timing of treatment may depend on the results of this assessment.

For many treatments, an in-person assessment by the treating physician is required before the final medical decision. A remote consultation or record review before travel is a preliminary evaluation and does not always replace a physical examination. Additional tests may be requested if medically necessary.

Yes. If an in-person examination or new tests reveal information that was not previously available, the physician may recommend changing or postponing treatment or, if it is not medically appropriate, not proceeding. A preliminary evaluation is not a guarantee of treatment or outcome.

Depending on the healthcare provider and service package, foreign-language or interpretation support may be available. It is particularly important that you understand critical information such as the procedure, material risks, informed consent and discharge instructions. Confirm available language support before travel.

Medical assessment and treatment are the responsibility of the relevant healthcare professionals. Depending on the agreed scope, Istanbul Medical Service may assist with appointments, provider communication, transfers, interpretation and other organizational matters. Medical questions should be directed to the treating clinical team.
